Depict Task

Amusements I like this short film because of its simplicity, it only has four shot types, medium close up from behind, a wide shot, a medium shot and a long shot. They have no talking except from at the end which the phrase "that was shit" this whole short film is about a guy trying to impress a girl and in the end it doesn't, it shows how hard it is to impress someone in the real world and does reflect that sometimes the outcomes we want aren't always going to happen. Throughout the film, everything is very symmetrical and adds to the simplicity factor because there are only a few props and a fence. There is no special effects or filters which create a very real, very true to life aspect. In the starting shot before the title splays itself on the scene you see the girl look at him while he is not, indicating to the audience or watcher that she is interested in the guy which creates a basis and an idea of what the film is to the watcher. Then there is a shot where...

The Package

Evaluation Task - Change Of Hands: The Package Strengths: One strength is that most of the filming is smooth and worked together nicely. Our music editing really changed the tone of the story, but for the better. Secondly, the invisible package part was a creative additive from Beth and took some time to put together which resulted in a nicely rounded "stop and bing" scene to tell the viewers that it indeed was an invisible package. Weaknesses: There is a jump which we failed to see before exporting and it was supposed to be a blink-like fade in and out, however it made the clip staggered. We should have checked it once again to spot any flaws. Secondly, the filming from Beths POV needed to be less shaky and we wouldn't have had to edit in the 'blinks' however the blinks did make it more life-like, but overall the clip was still blurry at times.

The Hershey Thief

Evaluation Task - A Tense Meeting (The Hershey Thief) Strengths We were able to use the camera to our advantages so the filming was clear and not jittery. We had lots of different camera angles which helped form an all round professional look. Our Title effects worked very well fading in and out along with the music and clip to give it a movie look which made our work seem more professional. Weaknesses One element that should be improved is our music editing as it can sound a bit jumpy at times and didn't really work well with our video. I wished we added more to the last part and put some close up shots of our faces at the end to give the video more of a story which would also add more emotion and fit with the sad music. Continuity at the end was an issue at the end as we had to clip some parts and add a fade to black because Beth just appear and was not seen entering, we should have took time and were more careful.
